Masteron is an anabolic steroid that provides gradual muscle growth without a significant increase in body weight. Drostanolone Propionate, the main ingredient in Masteron, is known for its strong anti-estrogenic properties - as a result, there is no water retention when using this drug. In addition to its muscle growth properties, Masteron also increases energy levels and makes you train harder.

Properties of Masteron

Drostanolone (also known as Dromostanolone) is a modified form of dihydrotestosterone. It is distinguished by the introduction of a methyl group in carbon-2 (alpha), which greatly increases the anabolic potency of the steroid and increases its resistance to metabolism in skeletal muscle tissues via the enzyme 3-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase. Drostanolone propionate is a modified form of drostanolone where the carboxylic acid (propionic acid) is attached to the 17-beta-hydroxyl group. The esterified steroids are less extreme than the free steroids and are more slowly absorbed from the injection area. Once in the bloodstream, the ester is removed, leaving free (active) Drostanolone. The esterified steroids are designed to prolong the therapeutic effect after administration, allowing for less frequent injections compared to free (non-esterified) steroids. The half-life of propionate drostanolone lasts about two days after injection.

How to take Masteron

For body improvement or performance enhancement, the drug is usually injected three times a week. The weekly dose is usually 200-400 mg and is taken for 6-12 weeks. This dosage is sufficient for measurable increases in muscle mass and strength.

Drostanolone propionate is often combined with other steroids, such as the injectable anabolics Deca-Durabolin (Nandrolone Decanoate) or Equipoise (Boldenone Undecylenate) to enhance its effects, which provide muscle growth without excessive water retention. To build muscle mass, the steroid is often combined with injectable testosterone. The result is muscle growth and lower water retention and other estrogenic side effects than when these steroids are used alone (usually at higher doses).

Masteron is most commonly used during drying. It is often combined with other steroids, such as Winstrol, Primobolan, Parabolan, or Anavar, to help maintain built muscle mass and promote fat burning, during a period that can be very catabolic without the use of steroids.

Side effects

Although the drug is classified as an anabolic steroid, it can still cause androgenic side effects, especially at higher doses. These effects can include increased skin oiliness, acne formation, and body or facial hair growth. Anabolic-androgenic steroids can also exacerbate baldness in males. Women should also be warned about the potential virilization effects of anabolic-androgenic steroids. These effects can include a lowered tone of voice, menstrual irregularities, changes in skin texture, facial hair growth, and an enlarged clitoris.

Drostanolone is not a 17-alpha alkaline substance and has no known hepatotoxic properties. Toxicity in the liver is unlikely.

All anabolic-androgenic steroids, when taken in doses sufficient to promote muscle growth, inhibit endogenous testosterone production.
