Active ingredient – Anastrozole
Arimidex is an oral product produced by Dragon Pharma. Each tablet contains 1mg of the active substance Anastrozole. Anastrozole is an anti-estrogenic drug and is the first drug in the class of third-generation aromatase inhibitors. Anastrozole reversibly binds to the aromatase enzyme through competitive inhibition and inhibits the conversion of androgens to estrogens in peripheral (extra-gonadal) tissues.
Effects of Anastrozole
Anastrozole has a significant effect on estrogen levels. It works by blocking the aromatase enzyme and subsequently blocking the production of estrogen in the body. Since many breast cancer cell forms are stimulated by estrogen, reducing the levels of this hormone in the body can slow the progression of the disease.
Athletes using steroids take Anastrozole to minimize the side effects associated with elevated estrogen levels often seen with anabolic-androgenic steroids. Compared to traditional drugs such as Nolvadex and Proviron, Anastrozole is able to control estrogen levels much more effectively.
How to take Anastrozole
For the prevention of side effects from anabolic steroids, Anastrozole is usually taken starting from the second week of the steroid cycle. The usual dosage is 0.5mg every 3-4 days starting from week two of the anabolic steroid cycle.
If a side effect such as gynecomastia is already present, 1 tablet (1mg) of Anastrozole should be taken daily for 7 days or until the symptoms disappear.
Studies show that one daily dose of 1mg causes estrogen suppression in over 80% of patients.
Side effects
Administration of Anastrozole is accompanied by hot flashes, dry mucous membranes of the urogenital zone, thinning of hair, liver dysfunction, rash, including erythematous and maculopapular, as well as acne; gastrointestinal reactions - anorexia, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea.
Anastrozole does not cause changes in the organs of vision and does not exhibit teratogenic properties or damaging effects on DNA.
