Azab 500 by Parth Pharma is an anti-bacterial drug produced in tablets for oral administration, with each tablet containing 500mg of the active substance, Azithromycin. Azithromycin is an antibiotic in the macrolides class, which was first approved by The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in 1991.
In the medical field, this drug is used to treat mild-to-moderate infections of the lungs, sinuses, skin, and other body parts.
Effects of Azithromycin
Azithromycin is an antibiotic that can treat many types of bacterial infection. It can also prevent these infections from getting worse or spreading.
In order to replicate, bacteria require a specific process of protein synthesis. Azithromycin stops bacterial protein synthesis and subsequently stops bacteria from forming.
Azithromycin is structurally similar to erythromycin but it has been proven to be more effective for preventing bacterial activity. This is because it has a longer half-life and a higher degree of tissue concentration.
How to take the drug
This medication is taken by mouth, usually once daily with or without food. Take it with food if stomach upset occurs. In order to get the best effect from the antibiotic, take it at evenly spaced times (the same time every day).
The initial recommended dose of Azithromycin is 500 milligrams (1 tablet) once daily for 5-7 days. Studies show that most patients are cured within 6 days of treatment.
Side effects
Like all drugs, Azithromycin can have certain side effects. They are usually minor and may appear in the form of:
- Nausea
- Vomiting
- Diarrhea
- Pain in the abdomen
Because Azithromycin is mainly eliminated by the liver, caution should be observed when this product is given to people with decreased hepatic function.
